Youtube: Ronald Jenkees

ronaldjenkees.jpgSomehow by accident i came across this guy on youtube, and his music is cool and it's really fun to watch him rocking out on his keyboard. He's most likely just a well-played character, but he's so damn entertaining, so who cares. Since I'm lacking better words to describe him, I will quote one Youtuber with all spelling mistakes instead:

He's like a dirty south mad scientist of funk. He's like the Bob Ross of sound, painting sonic landscapes. A real talent with a true love for music. Ron J ain't no joke.

You will find more videos in Ronald's Youtube channel.

Nothing new. Amazon. New Album.

Not much happening recently: Bought a bass guitar so i can gain control over my fingers again. It's astonishing how little we use most of our fingers every day, especially the left hand. The bass is of no great quality, I don't think it makes any difference for a beginner to play on a €80 or a €800 bass.

Hey, good news: Somehow I missed the info that one can order from Amazon.com and get things shipped to Shanghai. My first shipment is on the way, the shipping charge is quite steep, $6.99, plus $4.99 per book (wtf!?). But for some hard to find books, i guess one has no choice. And including the per item charge, the discounted books are still cheaper than in most of the foreign language bookstores here in Shanghai.

Now to the new Album: It's a reggae-hiphop-rock-something crossover from a German group called Jammin Inc. I quite like it, somehow, no idea why.

I know, recently I write a lot about music, but I promise this is the last music related post (for this week). I totally can't get JT Bruce on his Anomalous Material album out of my head. I have been listening to his album for 48 hours straight at volumes of an starting airliner and did not get bored of it. In the metro, at work, at home and in bed. It is very addicting. Although he has the habit to play the same melody over and over on most of the songs in various variations, it's as I said it's too addicting and you just can't stop listening to it. Number 05 "Exordium", 12 "Temporal Distortion" and 13 "The Artist, The Sage, and The Jester" are my favorites. If you are into progressive rock, especially free progressive rock, this mostly instrumental album is for you. Get the torrent at the Jamendo website or just click play below:

Flickr photos of Shanghai

Not much to do today. Listening to b-Shake on Jamendo and browsing some photos on Flickr.

Have a look at lifemage's Shanghai photos, which are simply beautiful - That's what living in Shanghai is all about - And I wish I had such camera skills.
